Dave Donegan notches up another National title

King of the Pole Vault David Donegan took yet another National Indoor title at Athlone IT today with a best of 4.60. At this stage he is knocking on the door of title no. 20. Extraordinary!  Ian Rogers was 4th with a best of 4.40m. Also in Athlone Ciaran Mackey qualified for tomorrow`s 400 final 3rd fastest in 49.79 and Mark McDonald won his heat in 3.59.75 to qualify for tomorrow`s 1500 final. A pb of 6.96 from Keith Pike saw him qualify for the 60m semi finals along with Isreal Ibeanu 3rd in 7.11. Kingsley Iso was 4th (7.48) and eleminated.  Leah Moore safety negotated her way through round 1 finishing 2nd in her heat (7.5)

Moving on to the 200m and as expect Brian Gregan was fastest today recording a time of 21.56 to move onto tomorrow`s semi. Stuart Roche ran 23.21 but was eleminated. Snezana Bechtina was 2nd in her heat in 26.18.

Both our athletes in the men`s 800 were eleminated. Andrew Jenkinson ran 1.54.88 while Brian Tobin ran 2.01.93. Finally Louise Reilly finished 6th in the 3,000m final with a time of 10.24.64.
