At the Dublin 10,000M C’ship held with last nights graded meeting Clonliffe’s David Brennan finished 2nd in the Senior championship Race to take county silver in a time of 34:51. Originally it was intended that the Dublin Masters C’ship would also be held in conjunction with that race but in view of the low numbers it was unclear as to whether the Masters C’ship was actually taking place. There was also a full programme of graded track and field events which featured a number of excellent performances from our athletes.
Of our ladies Emma Cooper continues her good form in winning the Lady’s B Grad Mile in a time of 5:29.
There were excellent performances by Clonliffe’s men in the field events, Luke Mangan winning the Men’s Discus with a throw of 41.25 withEamon Byrne 2nd with a throw of 36.81.
In the Men’s Pole Vault, again there was a Clonliffe win too with David Donegan vaulting 4.45 from Ian Rogers 2nd with 3.70.
In the triple jump again Clonliffe made another winning performance to take all field events with a jump of 12.70 from John Shanley.
On the track John Fay doubled up once again to run a time of 26.88 in the 200M followed by a mile time of 5.37. Chris Troy was also in that mile race recording a time of 5.54.
