Day 4 of Dublin Juvenile c’ships

Gerry Carr reports: Another windy day greeted the participants at day 4 of the Dublin juvenile championships.
One result omitted from yesterday was an excellent 2nd in the boys under 19 400m for James McDonnell. Today’s action was sprints over 80/100m and 1500m.
Under 14 80m.Girls saw Sophie Kiernan 4th in heat. Leah ó Reilly 8th in heat Sophie Rattigan 4rh in heat Zoe Mulligan 2nd in heat and a super 6th in her final.
Under 15 girls Rachel Ardiff 9th and Sandy Rose Kivlehan 7th with neither girl making the final.
In under 14 1500m Sophie Kiernan 8th with Harriet Kenny 10th in 1500m under 15.
In under 16 1500m Ciara Sheedy 6th with Mya O’Reilly 11th.
Boys under 16 1500m saw Matei Ursachi win gold with Rory Quill claiming bronze.
Girls under 17 we had Hazel Kenny in 4th.
In the boys under 17 Lorcán Benjacar took silver with Sean Cronin 4th Tom Breslin 6th Leon Brady 7th and Órán McGowan 9th.
Cillian Keegan 4th in under 18 1500m.
Ava Usanova completed a sprint double in winning today’s 100m U/16 adding to yesterday’s 200m victory. Emily Jachna was just outside the medals in 4th but qualified for Nationals. For good measure also secured bronze medal in the triple jump.
Jaydon Carroll was 4th in the boy’s under 16 100m.
Next up for juveniles are Dublin relay championships over two nights in Lucan later this week.
