Declan Powers to Dublin 10,000 title

May 7, 2009 [Noel Guiden] Well done to Clonliffe`s Declan Power on his win in last night`s Dublin 10,000m Championship in Irishtown. Declan was first in a time of 33:43.96. The race was held in conjunction with graded meeting no.2 which also featured a number of other good performances from our athletes. Becky Woods, (left), lead a Clonliffe 1500m one two winning in a time of 4.43.28 from Louise Reilly 4.43.38.

In the men`s 1500m Conor Healy was 2nd in grade A in 3.51.72, Aidan Bailey was 7th in 3.57.67 while Dave Flynn was just over 4 minutes running 4.01.1. Eoin Pearse was 10th in 4.05.05. In grade B Stephen Harkness was 11th in 4.24.02, young Keith Jenkenson was 17th (4.31.91).Meanwhile in grade C Joe Cooper won in 4.28.64.

Stuart Roche was 5th in the 200m (23.83) and finally Luke Mangan was 2nd in the Shot with a best of 12.96m.

For grade meet no. 3 the action switches back to the Morton Stadium on Wednesday May 20th when the featured track events will be 400m, mile and 5,000m and in the field the pole vault, high jump and hammer.
