Doran clocks superb PB in club 10,000

 Liam Hennessy reports on The Grand Prix Series, Round 13, Pat Bonass Trophy / Club Championship 10,000 Metres track race, kindly sponsored once again by Pat Bonass. The race took place last night at Morton Stadium. The weather was perfect for distance running; 13 degrees, but most importantly the rain abated and conditions were relatively calm, so all in all a good night for fast times. Thirty runners toed the start line. From the off Sean Doran hit the front and was well ahead of the field throughout the race. Sean claimed the Club Championship with a fine run, finishing in a lifetime best time of 31.49, more than two minutes faster than Sean has ever run before. There were many other runners battling against the clock with plenty achieving lifetime bests too. It’s been fantastic to see so many runners enjoying what has been a great series to date in 2019.
The result of the Club Championship was as follows;
Winner – Sean Doran – Club Champion 2019 – 31.49 – PB
Second – Paul Keenan – 36.37 – PB
Third – Shane Casey – 38.11 – PB
The result of the handicap was as follows;

Second Place – Greg O’Beirne
