The Clonliffe club vest was proudly on display on the back of Cathal Doyle in New York City today for the famed 5th Avenue mile. Cathal finished in 8th place in a world-class field in a time of 3.52.1. The Clonliffe man was prominent from the off and in fact picked up the halfway lead bonus, however it was just after that halfway mark, as the field relaxed slightly, that Olympic silver medallist Josh Kerr made the telling move hitting the front, a lead which he never relinquished winning in a new course record time of 3.44.3. That brings the curtain down on what was a magnificent season for Cathal Doyle.
