Doyler remains on track for Olympic qualification, plus track round up

Cathal Doyle took yet another when on the circuit last night as he took 1st place in the 1500 at the Kuortane Games in Finland in a time of 3.35.98. Although still short of the Olympic automatic qualification time there were more valuable ranking points secured and with a week to go he remains in a good ranking position which, fingers crossed, might be enough. Onward now to Nationals next weekend.

Also yesterday Efrem Gidey put his European 10,000 disappointment behind him clocking a new PB, and by some margin, over 3000 in Loughborough as he finished in 3rd position in a time of 7.58.11. It was a tactical affair with a very hot last Lap, indeed Efrem clocked 57 seconds, and the last 200 by all accounts was an absolute burnout.

Job done! Matei 6.01.03

Also in Loughborough Matei Ursachi secured the European U/18 2000 steeplechase qualification time. Matei had previously gotten the time however due to technical difficulty it was not accepted, no such worries last night as he clocked an excellent 6.01.03 in finishing in 4th position.

At the Mannheim Junior Gala Meet today Davey Davitt finished in 2nd place in the 400 hurdles (time not yet to hand).
