Gladys Cooper reports: The second round of the league got off to a very cold start today on home turf at Morton Stadium but that only applied to the weather as all of the Clonliffe athletes competed extremely well in their chosen events despite the cold. The U/15 girls who had a long wait all ran so well and ending with a 1st from Emma McDonnell, 2nd Katie Halpin 3rd Aiofe Hession in the 1000m. Emma also went on to win the 80m and completing a great all round performance also won the high jump. Blaise Carroll also did extremely well in the U/15 high jump. Also winning in the high jump was Dermot Buckley U/16.
In the U/14 800 Naiose Cullen had another great outing in the league, despite having a cold, finishing 2nd in what was great race. Sally Sumola as always gave her all in the sprints finishing 1st U/14 .Jonathon Fitzsimons U/13 was 3rd in 80m and 2nd in 600m .
Once again a big well done to all of our great Clonliffe athletes.
