Efrem Gidey continued his preparations for the Copenhagen half marathon in 2 weeks time by taking in this morning’s Lucan 5 mile road race that doubled as the Dublin 5 mile championships. Efrem scorched around the course obliterating the existing course record of 24.12, his time at the finish a very tasty 22.58, a winning margin of in excess of 2 minutes.
Making it a fine day for the club was third-place finisher, and taking Dublin bronze, Sean Doran in his 3rd race of the week recording a time of 25.29. On the team front with individual gold and bronze in the bag Paul Keenan in 14th (27.47) and Brian O’Reilly (29.56) completed the scoring 4 to take Dublin team gold.
