With it being International women’s day fittingly it’s the Clonliffe girls who grab the website headlines today. Emily Bolton was crowned all Ireland senior schools cross country champion this afternoon after a dominant display at Galway racecourse. Lorraine O’Connor finished in an excellent 5th position and with both Emily and Lorraine running for the Institute of Education it was cause for double celebration as the school took the all Ireland senior girls team gold.

Team gold also for Kate Gill who finished 27th in the junior girls race and was 2nd scorer on the victorious Santa Sabina team.
In the minor girls race Carragh Nigfhloinn finished a commendable 32nd.
In the junior boys race Eoghan Thompson took 16th Pl, also in that race was Mark Kelly. Edy Blaque picked up all Ireland team bronze as 4th scorer for Belvedere in 49th position with Fiachra O’Donovan 98th.

Whilst in the senior boys Tom Breslin was the clubs top finisher finishing in 6th position, 14th Lorcan Benjacar, 17th Matei Ursachi and 41st Aidan Benjacar. Both Lorcan and Aidan were on the Ard Scoil R team that finished in 5th position
