This Sunday (June 2nd) the annual Clonliffe Juvenile all medal Open Sports take place in Morton Stadium from 2.00pm. Clonliffe host a fun event for young athletes from tiny tots up to U/16. There are events for all from sprints to middle distance and field events including turbo javelin and long jump. Entry is a mere five euro and young athletes can take part in as many events as they like. This is a great introduction for youngsters to competition as it is held in a non-competitive fun atmosphere. There are no heats and every race on the programme is therefore a ‘final’ with medals for the first three in each race/event. There are also spot prizes.
Parents are encouraged to bring their children, and this is an open event so you do not have to be a member of Clonliffe Harriers or indeed a member of an any club to take part. So slap on the sun protector and come to a fun afternoon in Morton Stadium from 2 PM onwards. Registration is open from 1 PM on the day.
