Clonliffe athletes show form at AAI Games, Day 2

Day 2 of the AAI Games saw wins for Clonliffe athletes in the field events as Stephen Rice won the javelin with a best of 71.04 and Eoin Sheridan won the discus (53.34).

There was a big pb for European Para T13 Champion Greta Streimikyte of 4.29.33, putting her into the top 10 Clonliffe all time list. Young Niall Carbery build on the great season start he had in Belfast 2 weeks ago as he clocked another 1500 PB winning heat 2 in a fine 4.02.55. Nice running also in heat 1 by Richie Owens 10th in 3.56.64 and Mark McDonald 3.58.51 for 11th. In the 2000 SC another of the up and coming athletes Cillian Sherrin ran 8.17.32 and gained invaluable experience.

In the 100 Leo Morgan recorded a time of 11.03 in series 1 and went 10.88 in series 2, while Eamonn Fahey ran 11.44.
