First club outdoor record of the season falls, plus round up (updated)

Jess Tappin has taken down the 1st Clonliffe club record of the outdoor season and in some style. Yesterday, April 13th Jess won the 400 hurdles at the Bryan Clay invitational in Azusa, California in a time of 57.02 bettering her existing club record set last year of 57.20. Only 2 days previously Jess finished 2nd in the 400 hurdles in a time of 57.56 at the Pacific Coast invitational, Long Beach, California.

Also at the Bryan Clay invitational another Clonliffe athlete Gavin Cougle got his outdoor season off to a good start clocking 10.89 in the 100 and 21.67 in the 200.

Continuing the news from the USA, today Craig Duffy ran 10.78 for 100 in the Bison Classic at Bucknell University, Pennsylvania. Craig’s time was a new PB, moving him up to 6th on the Clonliffe all time list. Later in the meet he clock 22.34 in the 200.

In Romania Mihail Sprincean, kitted out in his Clonliffe colours, was 2nd in the Wizz Air Cluj-Napoca 10k held in very warm conditions in 32.19.

On Friday young Clonliffe athlete in Joshua Chalmers won the 1500 at the Educate Together track and field championships in Morton Stadium in a time of 4.42 (a PB).

Today, Sunday the 14th Eoin Maguire ran an 18 minute PB in the Manchester marathon as he finished in a very impressive 2:44.28.

There were only 2 Clonliffe athletes in today’s Great Ireland Run in the Phoenix Park, Dave Comiskey who ran 42.11 and Tom Moran 45.22.
