Nov 21, 2010 [Noel Guiden] Another eye catching run from Dave Flynn (very old pic) in the US yesterday. Flynner made a huge contribution to the Western State cause as the Mountaineers finished 2nd and qualfied for the NCAA Division II Nationals on December 4th in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Yesterday`s race was held in Wayne State College, Wayne in bitingly cold windy conditions over a hilly course. With a most impressive run Flynner won all Region Honours courtesy of his excellent 14th place. Even more impressive was the fact that Flynner ran the second 5k some 19 seconds faster than the first, splits of 16.00 and 15.41.72, in recording a time of 31.41.72 for 10,000m (in wind and over hills) Race winner Luke Cragg was only 33 seconds in front. His contribution in finishing 3rd scorer ensured that Western State progrss to the Nationals in two weeks time. That`s three very impressive runs in recent weeks by Dave Flynn which surely must have caught the European Cross Country selectors attention.
