Round update: Wins for Flynner IMC 3000, Gregan in Belgium

At last night`s GV Ryan IMC Meet in Irishtown Dave Flynn won the 3000 in 8.18.32. Aaron Hanlon was 6th 8.24.91 and Sean O`Leary 18th in 9.09.56.

Earlier in the week, Wednesday the BHAA Trinity track meet took place on grass in Trinity College where there was a notable double by Thomas Sherlock: 1st in the 1,000m (2.29.1) and 1st in the 2,000m (6.18.5).

Today Conor Healy was 3rd in the Drogheda Mid Summer 5k in 16.27.

Also on the roads, on Saturday evening, the Dunshaughlin 10k took place top Clonliffe athlete was Sean Doran 33.53 next in David Brady 34.52, Joseph Cooper 36.16, Thomas Frayne 38.03, Maurice McCrohan 40.43. Jean Carr was 1st O/55 in 42.32.

In Nivelles, Belgium Brian Gregan won the 400 in 47.52. Ciara McCallion was on the Irish 4 x 400 team that finished 2nd at that meet. Ciara in the pre programme was 2nd in her 400 in 54.75.

Also on Saturday night at Princeton University, New Jersey Declan Murray ran a season`s best of 1.47.49 placing 3rd, in his last race before next weekend`s Nationals. That time should also ensure Declan`s qualification for the European track and field as it is his 2nd time inside the B standard of 1.47.60.

Sunday: Niall Sherlock 10th in Castleknock 5k (18.32).
