Fogo’s Army do a Splash and Grab in Raheny

After enduring pretty horrific conditions in the Leinster schools cross country championships on home turf in Santry on Wednesday Mick Fogarty took his U/17 and U/18 group to St Anne’s Park in Raheny for this morning’s 5K Park Run. Unfortunately conditions weren’t much better with this morning being a bitterly cold wet one! As a result of the incessant rain it was a Clonliffe ‘splash and grab’ with the lads either running directly through the numerous puddles or going cross country to avoid the deeper water. All ran superbly, including those looking to shake out the legs from Wednesday, with the group covering the first four positions: Sam Murray (16.36), JD Kelly (16.37), Lorcan Benjacar (16.52) and Mateu Urchachi (17.15). Next across the in 8th and 9th positions respectively Tom Breslin (18.15) and Jonathan Fitzsimons (18.25), 14th Christian Finn and then the two new recent additions to the group Erik Adam 15th (19.50) and Finbarr Coughlan 64th (23.12).
