Friends of Morton Games Launched

Mick Kearney: Clonliffe Harriers is pleased to launch the 2022 ‘Friends of Morton Games’. As all will be aware after a two-year covid inflicted break Morton Games returns on Saturday, July 2 for a night of ‘Santry Night Fever’. This year’s meet brings together Ireland’s best athletes competing against top international athletes from all over the world including Australia, New Zealand, USA, France, Italy, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Great Britain to name but a few. The programme for this year has been extended and now includes the following events:

Men: 100, 400, 800, Morton Mile, Albie Thomas 5000, javelin, shot.

Women : 100 hurdles, 100, 400, 800, mile, high jump.

Pre Program: junior women’s mile, junior men’s mile, 16 x 100 interclub juvenile (mile) relay, inter-varsity 4 x 400 (mixed) relay.

An athletics meeting such as this is a very substantial financial undertaking, thankfully we have many sponsors whose generosity is greatly appreciated, likewise we do receive grants and support from Athletics Ireland/Sport Ireland and Fingal County Council. Even however with that level of support there are shortfalls hence we depend on the generosity of Clonliffe Harriers club members and friends and this is where the ‘friends of Morton Games’ comes in. Please see attached flyer which gives further details and if you are interested in becoming a friend of Morton games please contact Mick Kearney direct, you will find his details also on the flyer. Thank you sincerely for your support.
