Round up: Gary back in saddle, BHAA and Graham Mahon

After his great pb run in the Dublin Marathon two weekends back Gary O`Hanlon was back on the roads racing again today winning the Marathon Cool Down 8 mile race in the Phoenix Park in 46.06. Making it a great day for the O`Hanlons Gary`s sister Karen, who runs for Dunboyne AC,  won the women`s race in 51.30.

Also today the Bank of Ireland BHAA cross country took place at ALSAA with a number of Clonliffe athletes in action including in the men`s 4 mile: 6th Declan Fahy (20.20), 14th Tom Sherlock (21.32), 16th Chris Muldoon (21.53), 26th Anthony Malone (22.30), 27th David Brady (22.32) and in the women`s 2 mile Bernie Byrne was 8th in 12.45.

Great also to report that Graham Mahon is back racing in the States, and more importantly back to health, for Clarke University where he is on scholarship. Graham was taken ill a couple of months back and has been sidelined ever since, but today did what he wanted to do by maintaining his 100% conference record, and finished 46th for the Crusaders at Cedar Rapids, Iowa in the Mid West Collegiate Conference, after only a couple of week training. Graham still has that nil desperandum spirit.
