Good morning`s work out for juveniles in St. Anns

Mar 13, 2011 [Noel Guiden] The second round of the Juvenile Spring Series between Clonliffe, Raheny, Lusk and Skerries took place this morning in St. Anne`s Park. It was a dry, fresh (actually it was damn cold not fresh!) morning in the Park. Host club Raheny Shamrocks had a 500m loop in place on the grass at Red Stables, a perfect flat surface for running. Relays were the main order of the day with two mass races for all at the conclusion followed by some novelty events for the younger juveniles. Once again there was a very good turn out of Clonliffe athletes and some fine performances to boot. The U/9 girls won their relay, in the U/11 mixed relays Clonliffe place 1st, 2nd and 3rd! In the U/13s the club were 1st and 3rd. The U/15 girls were 3rd and the boys 2nd. In the two 1,000m open races there was double success with Rachel Murray winning the girls race and Paddy O`Hanlon winning the boys. A most enjoyable morning was had by all. Thanks to out hosts Raheny Shamrocks. We now look forward to the final round in Skerries in two weeks time March 27th.
