Good news from USA as Cragg takes to the streets of Carlsbad

Good news from Stateside this morning with the commencement of the outdoor track season. Dave Flynn was in PB form on Saturday for Arkansas at the Arkansas Invitation in Fayetteville running a time of 3.51.62 as he placed 7th. This adds yet another PB to Flynners recent collection: Mile, 3,000, 5,000 and now 1500. Another Clonliffe man on scholarship in the US Graham Mahon got his season on track yesterday in the Central College Invitational running 1.58.04 over 800m in Pella. Also back in action in the US was Alistair Cragg taking in his annual road race in the Carlsbad 5,000, California. A good run by Alistair saw him clock a time of 13:26 in 6th place some 15 seconds off race winner Dejen Gebremeskel. This is an Irish and European 5,000m road record. The field also included a number of past Morton Milers including Brett Robinson, Brandon Bethke, Anthony Famiglietti and Craig Miller. Good post race interview with Cragg…
