Good times continue to roll as Kenneally takes National Short Course Championship

Mark Kenneally capped a superb weekend for Clonliffe Harriers with his victory in the National 4K Cross Country Championships held on Sunday 6th of March.

Mark, after a super battle with Eoin Higgins of St. Coca’s, took Gold and his first National Title in a time of 12:12 to add to hisIndividual Silver Medal in the National Long Course and of course his Team Gold in that same event.

The Championships were held at Tymon Park, the race provided a great battle between Mark and Eoin Higgins running shoulder to shoulder with Mark out kicking Higgins in the finishing straight to win by a 10 second margin. Third man was Mark Hanrahan of Leevale.

Other Clonliffe finishing positions in Tymon Park were Robert Malseed 27th, Colin Coyne 49th, Daniel Collins 53rd and William Stafford 66th.

Mark Kenneally’s victory was the icing on the cake of what has been a superb Cross Country season for the Club and coupled with Alistair Cragg’s European Indoor 3000M victory the night before made this a truly memorable weekend.

We look forward to both Mark and Alistair performing in the World Cross Country on the weekend of the 19th and 20th of March in St. Etienne.
