The Dublin graded incorporating the Dublin Championships took place on a great night for racing in Morton Stadium last night. One of the highlights was Cathal Doyle`s great run in the 800 where in a solo effort he clocked his first sub 2: 1.59.12.
Before the meet commenced Clonliffe enjoyed success as the Dublin Juvenile steeple chase took place with Ross Kearney winning his first Dublin title (6.55.68) in the U/18 2000sc followed home in 2nd by Paul Courtney (7.24.0). A win also in the girls chase by Hope Saunders winning the U/18 title.
In the Meet itself Isreal Ibeanu was 7th in the 100 in 11.37. Joe Gibbons in the graded took in three events running 17.43 for 100, 3.36 long jump and 1.30 high.
The 800m boys moved down to 400 on the night with Kris Valters recording 50.82, Andriu Jekinson 51.74 and Mark McDonald 51.86. In the 800s there was Cathal`s great effort, and a 2.05.87 by Liam Roarty, 2.07.29 by David O`Hanlon, 2.02.54 by Mounir Bouzain and 2.14.95 by Philip O`Doherty.
The ladies were also out last night Snezana Bechtina made her return to competition recording a 400 time of 64.42. Leah Bergin won the B 400 in 62.61 and in the 800s Becky Woods having ran a 1500 pb of 4.24.92 in the BMC meet in Trafford was 2nd in the Dublin Championship with a 2.13.02 while in the B races young Alannah Cooley ran 2.26.85 and Greata Strimikyte ran 2.30.34.
Finally in the field events Ian Rogers won the pole vault (4.60m), Simon Galligan was 3rd in the hammer (59.02), Caoime Morris was 4th in the hammer (42.40m) with Frances Mansfield 7th (17.98)
