Grand Prix Round 8 report by Liam Hennessy: 50 starters took part in the Michael Murphy 5 Mile Memorial race – Weather was a Dry /10 Degrees – Felt like 6 / Humidity 90% / Wind South Easterly 28km/h / Wet underfoot with trail areas quite greasy – not a bad night for running.
It was tremendous to see such a large attendance of members, who competed in this race over the years, including our president, Paddy Marley. It was also great to see Gerry Mc Cabe, a stalwart on the Grand Prix Committee over recent years, looking so well after a recent setback in the springtime.
The following is the Result of the Handicap for the Michael Murphy 5 Mile Memorial race;

And remember, only a week later – Round 10 – Club Championship – 1500 Metres – Morton Stadium – Thursday, July 13th – 8pm.
