Liam Hennessy Reports (apologies for delay in posting-holidays!) Round 11 – Grand Prix Series / Incorporating Club Championship 5000Metres – Morton Stadium – Thursday, July 27th – 8pm. The weather was a Cloudy / 12 Degrees – Real Feel 9 / 78% Humidity / 18km/hr SSW breeze – Not a bad evening at all for middle distance running. 62 Runners toed the line for what was a very well run race.

Apologies for the delay in reporting the results; however we had a few problems reconciling times, as some runners didn’t take or return a number on finishing. Many thanks to all who helped make this event such a success, particularly with the huge field that took part.
The turnout for all of our races this year has been amazing and long may it continue until our final race in November. The next race in the Grand Prix Series will take place on Thursday, September 7th – Round 12 – Bonass Trophy / 10,000 Metres Club Championship – Morton Stadium – 8pm. So what do we do between now and September 7th ??? – Well plenty actually if you are not heading away, so read on carefully. The August Series of track races begins next Thursday, Aug 3rd – No entry fee – No prizes – No after race refreshments – Just a great bunch of summer races and lots of opportunities to run PB’s!!!!. The series is open to Clonliffe Members, Grand Prix Runners and invited Guests. This series of club races has always been greatly supported, so come along and get involved !!!.

Thursday, Aug 3rd – Mile – Morton Stadium – 8pm.
Thursday, Aug 10th – Break for World Athletics Championships, London.
Thursday, Aug 17th – 800 Metres – Morton Stadium – 8pm.
Thursday, Aug 24th – 1500 Metres – Morton Stadium – 8pm.
Thursday, Aug 31st – 5000 Metres – Morton Stadium – 8pm.
For the Mile, 800m and 1500m it is envisaged there will be at least two or three seperate graded races. Please arrive early to be graded. You would be well advised to pick the grade you feel is best suited to your recent PB. Best of luck to all of you taking part.
