Gregan and Donegan open with wins

Jan 30, 2010 [Jeremy Lyons] Brian Gregan had a very impressive victory today (Sunday) in the London Open. In what is not regarded as a fast track, Gregan clocked 47.67 and this is edging close to the qualifying standard of 47.00 for the World Indoors in Doha in March.

Dave Donegan and Ian Rogers took 1st and 3rd places respectively at the Pole Vault meet in Jordanstown yesterday afternoon. Donegan cleared 4.65m to win the event and this is his 10th highest jump ever. Ian Rogers was within 5cm of his indoor PB when finishing 3rd.

Meanwhile, without any offical results yet from Nenagh and the Leinster Indoors, John Fagan won the senior men’s 400m in a time of 51.31, a new indoor PB. The race by all accounts was action packed with Fagan bringing his elbows to good use (GAA style) at the bell to gain the lead and take the race well in the end.
