As the track and field season winds to it`s end there are still a number of Clonliffe athletes in action at various meets home and away.
The round up starts with two of the club`s sprinters travelling to the the Netherlands for Saturday`s Amsterdam Open/Flame Games as the track season sees uses up the last meets of the Summer. Ciara McCallion was 3rd in her 200m heat in 25.16 and 5th in her 400 57.62 and Gary Scott finished 6th in his 100 in 12.08.
Next up is Supervet Matt Slattery, who a few weeks back struck double gold (and a silver) in the National Masters, this weekend Matt again struck double gold winning the Northern Ireland Masters M60 100 in 13.8 and 400 in 63.5.
Yesterday, Sunday September 1st, Ireland`s top 400m man and World Championship semi finalist Brian Gregan was in Citta Padova, Italy competing in the Euganeo Stadium over 400 placing 5th in 46.48. Interesting to see Morton Games 400 man Manteo Mitchell (USA) just ahead on Brian in 45.96.
