Brian Gregan is out. One of the Irish medal hopes Gregan crashed out of the European Indoor 400 semi final 1 this afternoon when he was caught from behind as he cut across at the 200 break. Gregan was caught badly and seemed to turn on his ankle on the inside track edge injuring himself in the process. Brian reportedly required 9 stitches in his leg as a result of being spiked. Post race Brian said: “I saw the Ukrainian guy in the corner of my eye and he came across me. I felt really easy, what can you do, I didn’t have any time to get back into it. I should be ok. If I had of let the Ukrainian go past me I would have still got second.”
