At today`s Le Cheile/Irish Milers Club Meet in Leixlip Hope Saunders was the Clonliffe star performer. In the senior women`s 3000 she lead the field on a merry dance winning by almost 20 seconds in a very fast 9.42.46. In the process Hope set a new Clonliffe junior women`s 3000 record for the 3rd time this season pulverising her existing mark by a massive 14 seconds. 2nd in the 3000 was club mate Eimear O`Brien (10.06.13)
Another athlete to pb was Mark McDonald who ran a superb 800 time of 1.53.99 in placing 2nd in the B race. Andriu Jenkison recorded a time of 1.56.04 in finishing 3rd in the C race.
In the men`s 3000 Cathal Doyle was 9th in 8.55.39 with Brian Flanagan just behind him (8.57.65).
In the 400 Ciara McCallion wasn`t far off her pb recording 55.77 in finshing 2nd with Emma Kelly 6th in 61.03. Paul Whelan was 2nd in the 100B in 11.46.
Also this evening on the roads Louise Caraher was top Clonliffe finisher in 49th (20.02) in the Sonia 5k in Dun Laoghaire. David Brady was 7th in the Glenmore 10 Mile in 62.59.
