Huge turn out for club juvenile cross country c`ships

Mar 25, 2010 [Noel Guiden] The club`s first Juvenile club cross country championship day was held last Saturday March 20th. It was a superbly organised championship by Gladys, Joe, Marion, Mick and Gerry which was very well supported by a huge turnout of the club`s juvenile athletes and their parents and families. Santry Demesne Parkland was of course the venue, on a well laid out marked loop at the rear of the stadium, on what was a great Spring morning. Rather than restrict these keen young Harriers to age categories Gladys decreed that the athletes could chose their prefared distance to race over. The result being that the 70 plus athletes in action enjoyed races over longer distances than they would have expierenced in championship races with pretty full fields, indeed the smallest number in any race on the day featured 12 runners , a great outcome.
