Ian Guiden wins Dublin 10k plus round up

Another successful day for the club at today’s Dublin 10k Road Championships in Garristown, North County Dublin, held over a very hilly course and in gale like conditions. Ian Guiden, back home now from Canada, made a winning return taking the race by the scruff of the neck from the gun winning in a time of 31.51, a winning margin by almost 2 and half minutes. The Clonliffe women’s W 35 team took Dublin team gold with the winning margin was some 10 minutes, the team of Siobhan Devaney (44.50), Mary Ketterer (45.31), Elaine McLaughlin (45.41) and Eimear Griffin (47.37). Siobhan also took individual W 40 gold with Elaine taking W 40 bronze. Mary took individual M 45 bronze.

The event also included a 5K where Sorcha O’Connor had a fine run finishing 2nd woman and 7th overall in a time of 19.48. 3rd woman was one of the club’s new athletes Aisling Kehoe 22.02, 5th woman was Katie Halpin (22.17) and 7th Harriet Kenny (24.53). Also competing in the 5K was Dave Comiskey who finished 9th (20.48).

Also today Tudor Mireca was 4th in the Omagh half marathon in 70.07, Sergiu Ciobanu 7th (70.55), also running was Lee Duddy 1:30.20.

At the Sonia O’Sullivan Cobh 10 mile in county Cork: Diarmuid Doyle 82.32, Carl Flemming 82.53.

Yesterday’s BHAA Dublin City Council 4 mile in St Anne’s Park, David Brady was 9th (24.26), Nathan Pearce 28.41, Maurice McCrohan 29.42
