Indoor updates

The indoor athletics season is up and running. Next up is the NIA Live series in Abbottstown on January 19. It seems that entry is now full for that event but there is a standby list and operation (see details on Athletics Ireland’s website).

Entry is now open for the National Masters indoor championships which takes place on January 30. More details on the event and entry:

Entry is also open for the national combined indoor events on Jan 22nd/23rd.

Coming up shortly is round two of the national indoor league, this takes place in Athlone on January 23. The men’s team currently lie in second place with the women’s team fourth, the top six after round two will qualify for February’s final. The events in round two are: 60H, 400, 1500, high jump, triple Jump, WFD, 4 x 200. The club captains have already been in contact with athletes and are currently finalising the teams for that round. Athletes can also, as soon as entry has opened, enter themselves in the guest races which will appear on the programme on January 23: 60, 400, 800, 1500, 3000. Please note that for all guest races it is the athletes who must enter themselves, not the club. Athletes are advised to keep an eye on the Athletics Ireland website.

Due to logistical issues surrounding the numbers allowed attend the NIA in Abbottstown, the Dublin juvenile indoor’s is confined to age groups U/15 to U/19 and will take place on February 5th/6th. Further details once to hand will be circulated to the relevant coaches. The Dublin Board are hopeful of providing competition for the younger age groups but unfortunately that will be back to the old ‘indoor outdoor’ days of yore. That is purely down to the restrictions that all have to work under at present. Again further details once we have them.

Finally please note that in order to enter any of the above events you must be a paid-up member of Clonliffe Harriers for 2022. The club membership is via the online facility set up by the club in conjunction with ClubForce.
