Isaac wins National High Jump bronze

Eugenia Bateson: On day 1 of the Juveniles National Championships in Tullamore today, Isaac O’Neill took Bronze in the U12 Boys High Jump with a jump of 1:30m.  Isaac has gone from strength to strength in this event, having also competed in the National Indoor Championships earlier this year.
Isaac also competed in the 600mm and finished 10th in a time of 1:48.84.
Training buddy, Rhys Daly also took part in a field and track event in this National Championships.  He competed in the 60m Sprint in heat 3, achieving a time of 8.93 just missing out on a place in the final.  In the High Jump Rhys jumped 3.79m finishing 15th in the Country.
Both boys then took part in the U12 Boys 4 x 100m with Conn Feore and Max Bamford.  This mighty team had a superb run finishing 4th in heat 3 in a time of 58.63
A fantastic result from our U12 Boys.
Both the U12 Boys and Girls are showing great form and what a boost of confidence to this whole group.  There are good days ahead for this fine group of athletes who are pushing themselves and putting themselves out there time and time again, showing true Clonliffe Spirit.
Well done lads on todays performance and in particular to Isaac on his first National Championship Medal.
