Issac silvers at Dublin Indoors

Eugenia Bateson reports: Day 4 of the Dublin Indoor Championships took place today at the NIA.  A busy day but a good one.

U9 Boys 300m.  Our youngest competitor of the day, Tim McFetridge left his mark at these championships finishing an impressive 2nd in his heat in a time of 1.01.66.

U10 Boys 400m – Fionn Thompson finished 8th in his heat in 1.34.18U10 Girls 400m – Olivia Low finished 12th in her heat in a time of 1.51.61 and Aoife Roe was 10th in her heat in 1.35.14.

U11 Boys ran 500m.  There were 7 heats with Tom Byrne going out in heat 1, finishing 9th in 1.55.12.  Isaac O’Neill was first in his heat in a time of 1.34.52.  As all 6 heats were Time Isaac’s time secured him a fine Silver in this Dublin Indoor Championships.

U11 Girls – Lucy Fagan had a fantastic run in her 500m time heat finishing in 5th in 1.52.27.   Grace Byrne finished 12th in the same heat in 2.02.08.  Ava Fagan was up next and was a strong winner in her heat in 1.41.73.  Fantastic running from these ladies.

U12 Boys increased the distance to 600m.  Seamus Phelan had a fine run in his heat finishing 5th in 2.08.65.  Andrew Low had a similar time, 2.08.60 finishing 4th in his heat, Adam Phelan also 4th in his heat in 2.07.43, with Darragh Kidd in the final heat finishing 5th in 2.18.61.

U13 boys also ran 600m with Braxton O’Shea in heat one. Braxton ran a fine race finishing in 4th in a time of 1.55.64.  Ben Grimes finished 5th in 2.01.64 in his heat and Eoghan Thompson ran the final heat, finishing 5th in 2.01.56
U13 Girls – Paige Farrell finished 6th in her heat in 2.10.78, Carragh NigFhloinn was 5th in her heat with a lovely run in  a time of 2.15.21.

U14 Boys were represented by Cormac Tynan.  Cormac ran a fantastic race and finished 5th in 2.41.58.  Some good days ahead for Cormac.U14 Girls also had one Clonliffe athlete, Lucy McFetridge.  Lucy looked strong throughout finishing 5th in her heat.  Lucy also took part in the Long Jump jumping very well indeed.

And that sees the end of the Individual Competition.  Well done to all our athletes who took part.  Also well done to Dublin Athletics, Cecil and his team on a very well-run enjoyable event.
