This morning’s Rathfarnham 5K was the big road race in Dublin today with a starting field of the best part of 1000 athletes. There was a good Clonliffe presence all of whom ran very well indeed. There was a young men’s team out led home by Cian Murray in 17.06, a PB, next in was Jack Woods and Lee Duddy in a sprint for the line both clocking 17.32, PB’s and then Dermot Buckley also in a PB of 18.29. The senior women’s team had a good outing and finished just out of the Dublin championship medals in 4th place. Again all recording PB’s: Laura Tuite ran 17.37, Alannah Cooley 18.18, Aoife O’Reilly ran sub 19 for the first time, an excellent 18.40, Jenny Johnston 19.10, her 1st road race in maybe 3 years, and finally Caoimhe O’Reilly 19.41 and in the process bagged the Dublin junior women’s championship bronze medal.

Also today Sergiu Ciobanu waa 2nd in the Charleville Half Marathon, Co. Cork in 66.24.
