A number of club members have enquired as to whether it is possible for the club to have a guard of honour for Jerry at his funeral service on Saturday. Unfortunately it is the view of the club’s Covid 19 officers that the current restrictions in place, in particular concerning the very much reduced numbers who may attend a funeral and of course that individuals may not travel beyond 5 KM from home, save for essential purposes, means that this is not possible. It is appreciated that members would of course very much like to attend in honour of Jerry and his service to Clonliffe Harriers and our sport however we would ask our members to be fully comply with and respect government health guidelines during these extraordinary times. We would hope that at some time in the future we can celebrate Jerry’s life and of course the memory and life of our club captain Joe Cooper and indeed Tom Boshell, who also passed away in recent days. In the meantime on Saturday at 4.00pm Jerry’s service can be viewed on line.
