The Dublin Juvenile Championships continued tonight in Tallaght. The offering tonight was 1500s and high jump (rained off on Sunday). The first medals collected on the night came from the U/15 girls who ran an excellent race, it was great to see three black and amber vests at the front of the race, lead home by one of the hardest working athletes in this group Alana Fitzsimons who won her first Dublin title, 2nd was Aiofe Hession with Katie Halpin 4th, and making it through to National finals.
Another girl who had a great run tonight was Sarah Bateson in the U/16 race with a fantastic last lap to go from 4th to 2nd, adding another silver to her 3000 one from Saturday.
Daragh Carter took U/16 bronze with a, as always, battling Dermot Buckley 4th. The U/18 ans U/19 race was combined with great Clonliffe representation lead home with a flying finish by Craig Giles, winning the U/18 title from Sean O`Leary, U/19 gold and, after a fine run, Daniel Lacey U/18 silver. Good runs also by Jordan Byrne and Jack Horan.
In the high jump James McDonnell took U/14 bronze.
Relays are next: Unevens on Friday and Evens the following Friday.
