Eugenia Bateson reports: Our younger athletes took a trip to Rockfield Park in Artane to try their hand at the Junior Parkrun. How did they get on I hear you ask……. How did they get on? Short answer – Brilliant!
The younger athletes were chomping at the bit to see how their training and hard work is paying off. And Paying off it is!!Shane McDermott was not only the first Conliffe man home but FIRST home in a time of 7.56!!!! Conor Tynan came home 2nd in 8.07. Gladys was bursting with pride at the performances by all. There are way too many stars in this group to mention them all but Gladys and her coaches will have some bragging rights after this today.
The cold nights and early Sunday morning sessions are paying off and they are growing from strength to strength. Full results are available on Rockfield Junior Parkrun.
Rewards came in the shape of Gladys’ famous lollipops with all children at the race flocking to her for their reward. Luckily there was enough to go around.
Well done to all who ventured out to Artane. A fantastic days work enjoyed by all with Gladys already thinking of what event to bring them to next.
