Juveniles’ Take Over the NIA

Eugenia Bateson Reports: The U9 to U14’s took over the National Indoor Arena in Abbotstown for a well earned break from the wind, rain, sleet, cold and everything else this winter has thrown at them.
The coaches were delighted to donn the t-shirts and ditch the thermals and layers too.  A brilliant training session with 60m sprints putting the cushioned wall under pressure, 200m sprints, long jump, high jump, shot putt and javelin all getting a good try out.
Some athletes trying out these events for the first time showing some untapped talent and great promise.
With a two hour intense session, its safe to say a good nights sleep will be had by all.
It was such a success the group will be back to Abbotstown next week at the slightly later time of 7.15.
