Kenneally’s solid performance sees him finish 15th in Europe.

After missing out on the 2010 European Championships in Barcelona due to illness, Mark Kenneally finally took his place on the starting line in Helsinki last night. In weather conditions he’ll have experienced many times before, Mark was seldom out of the top half of the field.

Tracking the leaders throughout the first few km’s, Mark was slightly detached as they passed 5,000m in a little outside 14.20mins. Holding his position for the remainder of the race Mark finished a highly creditable 15th in a time of 29.10.55mins.

In his post race interview on RTE Mark expressed his satisfaction with the performance, stating that due to his Marathon specific training the sudden increase in pace was not possible to response to.
