Star of the show at today’s Glohealth National Indoors was Dara Kervick. In recent weeks Dara has pbed and been within a fraction of the European qualifying time we’ll today he hit it perfectly winning his heat, running a pb and running well under the European time recording a time of 46.80. Joining him on the start line in tomorrow s final will be club mate Timmy Crowe who won his heat in 48.39. There was double gold in the pole vault as Ian Rogers and Dave Donegan both set new stadium records of 4.80m and tied. There will be Clonliffe representation in the 800 final as Declan Murray won his heat in 1.53.95 and Andriu Jenkinson 3rd but qualifying with a fast 1.55.29. Unfortunately Mark Mcdonald was out of luck 2nd in 1.59.67. Good performances also by the sprinters as Christopher Sibanda won both his 60m (7.07) and 200m (22.31) to book his passage to both finals. Likewise Keith Pike won his 60 in 6.95. In the women’s 400 Ciara Mccallion was 2nd in 56.34 and Snezana Bechtina was also 2nd (57.89) both going into the final tomorrow. Emma Kelly was out of luck running 60.55.
