Clonliffe sprinter Chris Sibanda followed up the winning of his first National medals last weekend (60 bronze and 200 silver) by winning gold in both sprint events at the Leinster Indoors Championships in Athlone yesterday.
Despite an unhelpful timetable he powered to 60 gold in 6.98 after a 7.01 heat and in the 200 was once again in superb form a 22.27 heat setting the scene for a championship record of 21.84 in the final.
Orna McGinley continued her comeback to competition and took silver in the 800 in a time of 2.22.00.
In the Leinster Masters Matt Slattery swept the boards and in record times to boot. Matt took all before him in the O/65 category from 60m to 800m, winning gold in the 60, 200 in 28.6 a CR, 400 in 61.83 (confirmed CR) and best of the lot in a national O/65 record of 2.34.5 the 800.
John Hartnett bagged O/40 200 gold. Gold and silver for Ronan Gately in the O/45, with gold in the 60H and long jump silver.
