The first day of the Leinster schools track and field finals took place in Morton Stadium today. Clonliffe athletes taking part included Sean Cronin who was 2nd in the U/16 mile (4.46.08) with Matei Ursachi 3rd (4.46.33), therefore progressing to the all Ireland schools in Tullamore on June 4th, Tom breslin was 9th (4.58.51). In the intermediate steeplechase Sam Murray was 2nd with Lorcan Benjacar 3rd, with both therefore progressing, Tom Breslin ran very well and placed 7th. In the senior boys steeplechase and also through to the all Ireland finals was Niall Carbery 2nd (6.20.06). Sean Boyne was 4th (6.38.67) and Cillian Keegan 5th (6.52.18). Ava Usanova was 3rd in the U/16 girls 200 (27.29). Jaydon Carroll was 2nd in the junior boys 200 (24.50), and, presumably goes through to all Irelands. In the relays Jaydon and Castleknock College took a fine 1st in the juniors, Sarah McDonnell was 3rd with the DCGA squad and Jack McDonnell 6th with the st. Aidans team.
