Lorcan Benjacar top of the class at DCU Invitational

The DCU Schools Invitational Cross Country made a welcome return to the calendar today. Clonliffe Harriers were delighted to lend assistance to DCU for the event held on a bright and frosty day in St. Claire’s, Glasnevin. There were several Clonliffe athletes competing for their schools, the final race of the day, the senior boys over a 4000m distance having particular club interest where Lorcan Benjacar in the Ard Scoil Ris blue vest was battling with his club mates in the red and white of St. Aidans. It proved to be an exciting finale to the day’s proceedings with Lorcan driving for home with 400 to go and taking a relatively comfortable win. The St. Aidans guys packed brilliantly Rory Quill, Tom Breslin, Sam Murray all in the top 6, backed up by Captian Cillian Keegan, Devan Morrissey and Cathal O’Neill took an excellent team win.
