MacMahon and Kevan medal at trial for Mountain Champs

Fresh off of his 4th place finish at last Monday’s National Half Marathon Championships, Brian MacMahon secured his position on the Irish team for the forthcoming World Mountain Running Championships in Italy. Running with the leading group throughout, Brian moved in to the lead over the closing kilometres to win the race. Back in third place, and with it, making a strong claim for another team selection was James Kevan.

Another one of our UK based athletes, Eoin Pierce, ran his second fastest 1500m of the season yesterday in Manchester. His time of 3.54.32 saw him finish 7th.

Sergiu Ciobanu ran this fourth race in seven days, and third in three, when winning the John Hartnett 10km in Ballyhooly today in a time of 31.57mins.
