Another great weekend for the Clonliffe track and field team saw no less than three national titles taken and an additional five medals from the Glohealth National Track and Field Championships. The first title captured was yesterday by the 4 X 100 squad winning in 41.98 only .5 off the club record. Today Sunday saw a great three way 400 battle where reigning national champion Brain Gregan prevailed winning in 46.20, Brian had raced yesterday in Belgium where he ran another fast race recording a time of 45.89. Timmy Crowe placed 4th (47.02) with Dara Kervick 6th (47.24). Also retaining his national title was Ian Rogers as he won the pole vault with a best of 4.50, Dave Donegan took bronze with a 4.40 best. Silver was won by Declan Murray in a repeat of last year’s 800 result, Declan recording a time of 1.51.04, Mark Mcdonald continued his good form this season making the final where he was 8th in 1.55.41. Andrew Heney took high jump bronze with a fine 2.05 best. Bronze also for Ciara McCallion in the 400 in an excellent 54.86 Jayme Rossister also took bronze in the 3000 steeplechase.
