Weekend review: Marathon Man O`Hanlon does it again!

The extraordinary Gary O`Hanlon followed up his win in last weekend`s Limerick Marathon with a win in today`s Kildare Marathon held in windy conditions at the always windy Curragh. Gary recorded a time of 2.32.08, a new course record,  only 7 days post his Limerick run of just under 2 hours 30. Simply unbelieveable!! Fionnula Doherty was 2nd woman in 3.08.57. Alan Worrall ran 3.21.03.

The Curragh 10k held in conjunction with the Kildare Marathon was won by Brian MacMahon making a welcome return to racing having been out injured since the just before the European Clubs Cross Country. Brian justed cruised around to win in a comfortable 33.10.  Jason McGrath ran 44.17. In the Kildare half marathon Brendan Donnelly was 53rd in 1.32.53

In the Lucan 5k this morning Maurice McCrohan was 40th in 19.04. While in the Phoenix Park Sergiu Ciobanu finished 4th in the Fit City 10k in 30.42.

In the USA David Flynn was running for Arkansas in the SEC Championships in the 3,000sc on Saturday the 11th. A 7th place finish by Flynner in 9.14.20 and a valuable point towards the team score as the Razorbacks took their 7th SEC in succession. Also Stateside Graham Mahon didn`t have the best of days on Friday for Clarke Crusaders at the UW La Crosse Eagle Open finshing way off his season`s best in the 800 (2.04.69).
