There are a number of Clonliffe athletes competing in Marathons this weekend. News to date of Sergiu Ciobanu finishing 15th in the Haspa Hamburg Marathon in Germany in 2:17.11. Sergiu`s splits were: 5k 16.24, 10k 32.18, half 67.42. The race was won by Shumi Dechasa (ETH) 2:06.44. Sergiu`s time was seconds outside of the European Marathon QT (2;17.00)
At today`s Limerick Marathon defending champion Gary O`Hanlon finished in 2nd place in 2:25.40, some 30 seconds behind winner Lezan Kimutai. Tudor Mircea recorded a DNF.
Also in Limerick at the Half Marathon Barbara Sanchez was 1st in 80.29.
