The old adage of ‘waiting on a bus, and then two come along’ springs to mind. Hot on the heels of Cathal Doyle’s new club 1500 mark last night comes Marcus Lawler’s new club 200 indoor record set today in the guest races at the TUS Athlone. Marcus clocked a superb 20.80 in winning his race bettering his existing club record of 21.10.
In the 60 Marcus finished 2nd in his race in a time of 6.80. Leo Morgan finished 4th in that race (7.08). Also in the guest races, after his heroics in the league 4 x 400 was Christopher Lynch finishing 1st in his 200 in a time of 23.51. Edel Maguire finished 5th in her 200 (30.22). Caoimhe Del Bello ran the exact same time in both her 60s – 8.72! Whilst in the pole vault, in his 1st competition for Clonliffe, Andrej Dmitrenko finished 3rd with a best of 3.20m, David Donegan came in high but unfortunately was a NH.
