Marcus sets new Club Record at Olympic Games

Marcus Lawler did himself proud at this morning’s Tokyo Olympic Games. In heat 6 of the 200 Marcus ran a two tenths SB of 20.73 to place 6th. Although Marcus’ Olympic journey is now over, for this cycle, he has competed with distinction on the World stage. Post race the Clonliffe man said: “It’s better than I’ve been doing all year and to run a season’s best here is obviously good but I’d really love to be contending for a semi and I knew that would have required a 20-mid, I’m capable of that. I am really proud but from a performance point of view, I want to be better.”

Marcus’ time is of course a new Clonliffe Harriers club record, the 3rd time this season Marcus has set a new mark.
