The club’s Master athletes were in good form at today’s national Masters indoor championships in Athlone with titles and medals coming back to Santry. Snezana Bechtina took a fine W40 sprints National double winning the 60 in 8.28 and the 200 national in 27.25. Likewise Edel Maguire did a National double, the W60 High Jump with a 1.35m best and W60 400 (70.47). Katherine Markey took W55 60 bronze (9.16) and later placing 4th in the 200 (30.78). Ciara O’Regan is making an excellent transition to the throws world as she picked by W40 WFD bronze (3.79). Niall Allen captured a National title for Clonliffe the W50 WFD (8.56) and also took M50 silver in the shot (12.47). George Maybury took home 2 medals: M70 800 silver (3.09.42) and 1500 bronze (6.30.84).
Finally the W35 4 x 200 relay team of Snezana Bechtina, Edel Maguire, Katherine Markey, Ciara O’Regan placed 5th (2.03.22).
